Day-8 Continuing with the Pomodoro App and having the Intro call with Uplift Node Team. ||#100daysOfCode
June 10, 2020
Hey Fam, I hope y’all are doing good. Lemme first share my stupid moments before I move onto some code talk XD.
Yeah Yeah, I am telling so if I didn’t tell you before lemme tell you this that I have joined Girlscript Uplift Project for Node and React stack as participants. The groups were so dead in the starting that I had to make some efforts so at least some people will speak up which some did although they are not even half of them, yeah those active are nice. So for React stack, I suggested this idea in the Education domain to have an educational platform where students can find resources for different kinds of fields like coding, design, business, etc, and can collaborate with others in a team of 4-5 people. Some other features like having paths, progress reports, assessment, chat options along with discussion section. Add some more cool features like creating courses and video calls. This was sorta my rough idea which luckily the mentors and other participants liked and agreed to work on. The plan is ready and mentors are working on the curriculum so we all will be starting on the project soon enough and I CAN’T WAITTTTT!!! Also the node project is planned too and we’ll start working for it from tomorrow (Kudos to mentors who managed to create it🎉).
Stupid Moment in React Team - I really don’t know if it was stupid but I edited the plan document and corrected few grammatical mistakes and added a couple of things so I informed the same in the group that I corrected grammatical mistakes and formatted the document. Suddenly, I received a message from a fellow teammate to remove the grammatical mistake part as someone might be offended. I really didn’t care at that moment so I said I didn’t call anyone out I just reported what I edited. After some time I realized he said that “Actually being in the industry, I got a habit of point things out individually if I feel it’s not right. That’s it. Thus I told you so. Hope u don’t mind” which sorta hit me afterward lol. I swear I didn’t want to point someone out or show them down, I make typos every day, I just informed what I did in case someone wonders about changes. But maybe it’s not the same for everyone and I never want to hurt anyone so I tried to edit the message but I couldn’t unfortunately so yeah that might be stupid or I am just overthinking. I just hope no one takes it seriously cuz the group was cool afterward plus I don’t care cuz its done now and my intention wasn’t wrong so I am okay.
Stupid Moment in Node Team - This one will be short I swear LOL. So I had the Intro session call today with Node team and the mentor complimented me on my portfolio and front-end skills as he saw my portfolio earlier. He said you are a great front-end developer and guess my reply? I fuckin said that “No, I am not! It’s just basics.” The poor guy just said “Okayyy”. Talk about embarrassing, I didn’t even say thank you jeeeeeeez 🤦♀. Please kill me (not literally 😂). The call went well tho and I am proud of myself for speaking up when everyone used the chat option to talk with mentor who was speaking and explaining stuff while asking some quesions.
Apart from me being stupid I actually worked on the Pomodoro Timer layout and started working a bit with JavaScript. I will share the link tomorrow in the blog. Shopping List is postponed to Friday as AceFCC team members are still finishing up the calculator.
My aunts and little cousins visited today so it was busy too XD but it’s cool to have people after months ( I made sure to make everyone be careful about hygiene ). The day was nice😁🔥.
So yeah, things are working out for the very best and I truly trust Allah’s(god’s) Plan for me. I am where I am supposed to be and have what belongs to me. I’ll keep working towards being a good person, programmer, and leave the results on Allah because he is the one in control and I trust his decisions which are nothing but the best for me.
The blog was long I know but Thank you so much for reading, I appreciate you💙.
