Day-100 Wohuuu! Last day of the challenge spent working on markdown previewer styles. ||#100DaysOfCode

September 30, 2020

Hola Amazing people! Today is Day 100th of #100DaysOfCode Challenge huh, it’s been a long journey indeed and I loved how I did in the challenge. I wanna write so much today about everything so let’s go!

Let's go

100th Day Update

For today I continue to work on markdown previewer and the bugs I was facing due to tailwind base styles, like I said yesterday there must be someway I can make it work so I found tailwind-typography package today which exactly for the same purpose so I tried and there were still some styles which were different from the default ones so I googles and set some similar default styles manually. I still had problems but I read how the package is made so I’ll leave it to that only.

My Experience in #100DaysOfCode

Let’s see where was I when I started, yeah I was learning to set up tailwind with webpack. I remember abandoning that project lol, it was followed by AceFCC tasks and call, what a great time it was. I built some awesome projects with Vanilla JavaScript like yes they were small but I learned nonetheless, I even made a CSS art of my favorite animal Panda. In the same month I started revising react with Kent C Dodds Beginner guide on egghead.io. I remember doing JavaScript Freecodecamp module problems and feeling at my lowest because I still couldn’t do like I expected you know with more experience and all. In July I started learning Node finally with the Uplift Node team, thanks to the mentor for the curriculum although I decided to follow The Net Ninja Latest Node.js Crash course which was the best decision.I got sick in past months with cold, headache a lot but I improved so it counts. I kept learning Node, taking notes(yeah I took notes, even I was surprised how), doing Freecodecamp JavaScript problems.

Oh not to forget I messed up my system twice losing everything but thanks to GitHub I didn’t have to worry about the code atleast. I dual booted my system with Pop OS as my Linux distro and I do all of my development work here so I rarely visit windows but I still have it just in case because many simple things are hard on linux and I have to use Adobe apps to complete my assignments which are pending from a long time. I had fun learning stuff about linux and customizing it like I would like to improve the productivity. I took a long break because I was sick and really couldn’t manage to code. My brother opened a fast food kinda corner on his own at 17 and I was proud although he had his fun and sold it few days ago.

I messed up

In the second week of august I started working on the TradeByte project. TradeByte was the main output of our uplift team and boi did it turn out good? Hell yeah! I learned tons like literally I did tasks I didn’t even learn before but with the help of youtube, google, articles I managed to do every single task on time. This project improved my backend knowledge along with my git knowledge like how to contribute, manage and all.

You've learned so much, young one

At last in September I started getting back to react and started freecodecamp’s Front-end Library modules. I knew most of the stuff but there were some things I got better like redux although I won’t know until I use it for real. I also committed to doing problems to improve my problem solving skills and I decided to go with Edabit for it as its easier than other platforms and I don’t feel dumb here. I completed two project of FE Libraries Certification you can check the Random Quote Generator and Markdown Previewer, 3 to go!

And yeah that was what I learned or accomplished in these 100 Days and I am proud of staying consistent even if it was me doing code for few minutes or me coding for hours non-stop. I am proud of all the days when I was close to quitting but I didn’t, I am proud of taking breaks whether it was from coding or social media. I am proud of not giving up and improving. Oh and my GitHub graph is so green because of the blogs and code later ofcourse.

I'm proud of me This is so me!

My advice for anyone doing this challenge

You should not focus on how much time you spend, but instead you should focus on being consistent even few minutes count if you are using your brain. Every effort is counted. Unless you have to, don’t miss any days but if you are sick or something then please take a break, this is not a life sentence you don’t need to start over just pick up from where you left. Many people quit at Day 50th and all, it’s not really needed to be honest when you have a genuine reason to not code for few days or couple of weeks even, I did two rounds of #100DaysOfCode and it took me more than 100 days every time because I know life happens and we are humans so it’s okay. You can do this! You are gonna improve if not become a pro, just start and see where it takes you. All the best!

If you are reading my stupid blogs then just know, I appreciate you a lot💙.

Bye
